Negombo: Day 1 & 2

So after arriving at around 10:30pm, after a fairly uneventful flight we were hit with the heat and humidity of Negombo. Coming from an Australian winter it was a bit of a shock, but we’re acclimatising.

We’re staying at a great little place called Ayur Ayur Ayurvedic resort off the main drag of Negombo. It’s been quite a little sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle that is Negombo.

We’ve done a little exploring around once we picked up the tuktuk, but I’ll leave that for a post all on its own as it was quite an experience.

On our last night in Negombo we initially decided to take the tuktuk out but parking was a little scarce so we ended up taking it back to our accomodation and just going for a walk to the main road where all the restaurants and food stalls were. It paid off. Sean bought vadai from a road side stall to snack on until dinner. They’re a chickpea deep fried snack which are so yum, and then we scored an amazing fish curry from an unlikely bar. We didn’t realise the beers would be long necks and ordered two, ($3 Aus) but I took one for the team and finished it and helped Sean finish another.
